I’ll always be grateful to Kurt Fortmeyer, C.J. Watson, and Al DiTrolio for writing such a great song and for giving me the opportunity to record it. Ever since including My Dog Jesus on Give Us a Song, the song has become a standard in my repertoire. It is rare indeed that I perform in public without My Dog Jesus in the set list.
So naturally, when I had the chance to perform a few tunes for Red Barn Radio‘s An Appalachian Christmas, “that song about the dog” was on tap for the evening. After all, it was a Christmas special.
