This weekend is the annual Thumbpicking Weekend at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Ark., May 15-17. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends and fellow pickers and to enjoying workshops with Muriel Anderson and Thom Bresh.
In addition to the workshops, each evening will feature some fantastic thumbpicking and fingerstyle performances. The thumbpicking contest will be held on Saturday. This year the contest will have two divisions, traditional and contemporary. Thom Bresh, Danny Dozier and Randy Buckner are this year’s judges.
Here’s a remembrance from last year’s thumbpicking weekend, jamming with Ben Hall, Eddie Adcock, Muriel Anderson, Moon Mullins and Washtub Jerry (who I really hope is coming back this year!).
