Smiles – Live from Red Barn Radio

In the course of coming back home to Kentucky, I had the opportunity to appear twice on the Red Barn Radio program: first on their eighth broadcast of An Appalachian Christmas, where I was privileged to perform with Sarah Kate Morgan, The Local Honeys, and The Sara Holroyd Singers. xProduct()Then it was a thrill to get the invitation to appear on the April 1 broadcast of Red Barn Radio with the Lexington folk duo, One Lane Bridge. Red Barn Radio records its programs live, and so I’m pleased to announce that from those recordings, I am releasing a new live album. My new album, Smiles, was recorded live on the sound stage of Red Barn Radio. Because it’s a live recording, it’s just me and my guitar, warts and all, but I’m very happy with the results. Red Barn Radio

One of the highlights of 2012 was a trip to my old stomping grounds in Lexington, Ky., for a live taping of Red Barn Radio. This was my first time to tape a radio program in front of a live audience, and I have to admit it was a tremendously fun experience. The set included a lot of my favorites, like Pallet on the Floor, Guitar Rag, Ain't Misbehavin', I'll See You in My Dreams and My Dog Jesus. The show was taped shortly after the release of Picking the Faith, so I included a few tunes from that record as well....
