The Otterbein Community Concert Series is a great way to spend an evening if you like live acoustic folk and roots music. Last night was no exception. As exciting as it was to play the feature set, I was more thrilled to meet Brian Keith Wallen and hear him play and sing.
Brian is a young and gifted singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and he’s developing quite a knack for various styles of music. He treated us to blues, bluegrass, a few folk hymns and a couple of his original songs last night. He only played guitar and fiddle during his set, but I went home with a full set of CDs, and I’m here to tell you, this young man is talented on many fronts!
Many thanks to Rick Garrett, Patchwork and Otterbein United Methodist Church for putting on this concert series and promoting folk and roots music in the Midwest.
